The number one project that was completed hands down is my own wedding quilt. All the fabric used in the quilt came from my stash. My husband travelled to South Korea in 2023 and brought fabric home for me to use. I saved it because it was too special to cut into, I thought our wedding quilt was the perfect project for the sentimental fabric. Pattern: "Timberline Log Cabin" from Judy Martin's Log Cabin Book. There is a bit of hand quilting I am finishing up in 2026.
I dove deep into knitting and Christmas 2024 received a full set of Chiaogoo interchangeable needles. Love the needles, hate the bag. So I put my sewing skills to work and made the "Case in Point" bag, patten from byannie. I added a few extra bits and even used a sashiko piece I stitched this year.as an additional interior pocket.
Quick project for our mandoline, I made a case for it! The blade is exposed and it has extra components without a home. I didn't want to cut myself or lose any of the pieces so I made a simple sleeve case with a flap that folds over and a button to hold the flap in place. Perfect project to practice button hole making.
My very first Halloween quilt is now complete! Pattern: "Backyard Party" - Then Came June. Fabric: "Tiny Frights" - Ruby Star Society purchased in Boston at Gather Here.
Tree Skirt, Kodiak OG. I used our tree skirt as a template for size/shape and completed just in time for Christmas!
Garments:
Frey Pants - Emily Lightly, made with double gauze. They are the ideal comfy pants
Chandler Trouser - Untitled Thoughts, I made two pairs this year. One made of black/white gingham and the other made with mustard cotton with a botanical print that was purchased in Tokyo.
Rosery Shorts - Rosery Apparel. Quick project to have comfy PJ shorts.
Knitting:
Lakes Pullover - Ozetta, Custom Woolen Mills yarn. Second time making this sweater, made it longer in both the arms and body.
Wedding Socks! I made us each a pair of socks to wear on our big day. Both pairs were yarn from a Canadian indie dyer.. sorry I lost the label and don't know which specific dyer we chose. Pattern: Everyday Socks - Andrea Mowry.
Men's Raglan Pullover, Custom Woolen Mills yarn. Finished and blocked in time to be wrapped under the tree.
King Salmon - Caitlin Hunter, Boyland Knitworks. Brooklyn Tweed yarn, I used the same colours as the pattern sample.
I'm So Basic - Summer Lee Design, self-stripping yarn with Christmas colours! Casted off just in time to be wrapped for Christmas morning. This is the second year in a row I have gifted my partner knitted socks on Christmas, I hope I can keep the tradition going!
Cheers to the New Year to you and yours! Hope you are coming into 2026 refreshed and ready to take on another year.
